A lot of First's for our family today

Jessica has her first day of 10th grade.
Joshua has his first day of being a 3rd grade teacher
Samantha has her first day of college classes.

The house is so quite I hate it!!! I have the tv on in one room and the radio on in the other. LOL
Hope to get some sewing done today, that is if I can keep focused.
I will let you know how the day went

Hello Friends/New tip

I am going to start a new post idea. Each Sat. I will post a handy dandy tip to help quilters get organised. Today I went to the, "Dollar Store" and grabbed a kitchen silver ware drawer organiser, it cost me $1.50. I also picked up an ice cube tray for $.75 cents. I brought them home and headed right to the sewing room. My desk drawer was a mess, bobbin thread, needles paper, pens, pencils, markers, thread, scissors, you name it, it was stuffed in that drawer. I should have taken a before photo, but didn't think about it until now. lol
What a huge difference. For just a few bucks, I have this well organized drawer. As you can see from the photos the ice cube tray was great for holding bobbins, pins, and all those little things that get scattered. The silver wear tray worked GREAT!!

If you have any helpful tips and would like to share, please e-mail me and I will post them here, giving you credit of course.
Have a great day, stop back next week for more helpful hints.
Peaceful Piecing.

We Moved Samantha into her dorm

Today was the big day!! We moved Samantha into her college dorm. Her bed is all made and her books put away. We left the rest to her. It was a mad house, 73o some freshmen moving into one building. CRAZY!!

The house is going to be so strange with just the 3 of us here. HMM I wonder if her room is larger then the current sewing room lol. Maybe there will be a move in MY future.

Summer is here

Oh my Summer has finally arrived and is driving me crazy. I am blaming it on the medicine. But, I am having a real hard time dealing with the heat and humidity this year. The humidity has been a killer. Today it going to be up around 90 with 87% humidity. It will be a stay in and sew day.
Thank goodness we have Air Conditioning.
Hope your staying cool

It followed me home,

that's my story and I am sticking to it. LOL I went to the Mennonite quilt shop an hour and a half away. Verna's is a really neat shop with tons of fabric. While I was there some fabric jump into my cart. I had no choice but to re-home it, the poor things LOL

I got enough yardage to make 3 quilts and 25 1/2 yard cuts of the thirty reproduction prints that I just love. Those will become a few scrappy tops. LOL Good thing I don't have to explain to DH why the food bill went up. Fabric does not have to be fed or cleaned up after. LOL

Maybe if i keep the studio door closed he won't notice. LOL

Skittles,

I don't know if I have ever told you all that I am owned by a Scarlet Macaw. Skittles is now 16 years old and has lived with us for the past 5 years. It's like having a 3 year old in the house. He calls me mom, and let's us know when there is a problem. LOL

Enjoy the photos

He sure is pretty isn't he? And yes, he is on a leash so he can't fly away, but he hates the darn thing.
