322 WHAT!

LEAVES!! That's right, they are done. I will work on the stems tomorrow and maybe I'll be ready to applique them on Monday. This is what the leaves will look like when the appliquing is done. Avairy, by Moda and Three Sisters

I have become an applique fool

I have now done 4-5 quilts that require applique. In the past I would have avoided that technique. But, after learning the method that Beth Ferrier uses and teaches, I can say I love applique.
Here are some photos of the quilts I have done.

Mary's Garden is DONE!!!

The top is done anyway. I will be sending it out to be hand quilted. I am very proud of this quilt. It is my first all applique quilt done without a pattern.

Took a day off......well sorta

After finishing, Oh my Stars, I figured I would take yesterday and do house work. LOL I found the floor under the mountain of laundry, and fixed the family a real dinner. I also wrangled the dust bunnies that had taken up residence in the corners of the sewing room. While in there I though, I made 6 nine patch blocks for a swap I'm doing and got things around for my next project. I sewed more roses onto Mary's Garden and cut the final border. I will post photos of that later today. Hope to finish it up by the end of the week.

OH My Stars is Done!!

It's with the permission of the couple that hired me to make the quilt for, that I am posting these photos. This has been a wonderful project! Greg and Loretta were thrilled with the top. If you have never made a "Lone Star" quilt you can't imagine how much work went into this project. Then add the applique work on top of that. I am so proud of this quilt and I am thrilled that Greg and Loretta own the quilt. The next step is to get it to the Long Arm quilter. I will post more photos when it returns for the binding. Enjoy the top, We are all thrilled with the way it turned out. I'm disappointed that the scalloped applique didn't show up in the photos, you just have to trust me that it's there.

Working on the pillow tuck

I am now working on the pillow tuck of Mary's garden. I saw this quilt for sale on line and figured I could copy it, sorta. I'm not making it exactly like the original out of respect to the designer.

Here is my version so far.

I will update photos tomorrow

Leaves Leaves Leaves

I worked today on, Mary's garden. I am working on the final rose applique border. The rose vine will go across the pillow tuck, down each side, and across the bottom of the quilt. It will have 16 rose buds and 72 leaves. LOL I am now working on getting them cut out and ready to glue baste. I will post photos tomorrow.
Have a good night

This weeks TIP

I have found myself downloading a lot of different patterns. It is so hard to keep them all in one place sometimes. SO, off the the "Dollar Store" again. I was able to get 1 inch 3 ring binders for $1.00 and grabbed a package of page protectors. Now, each project has it's own binder. I also bought some folders and used a 3 hole punch and smaller projects went into a larger binder in their own folder. This is a great way to keep those lose pieces of paper in one place and not on the floor of the studio. LOL
Hope this helps and please if you have anything to add, I would love to hear from you.
See you next week.
Peaceful Piecing
