Well, I have been playing with EQ again. Here is my latest quilt, I picked up the fabric today. I can't wait to get started on this one. The open areas will get some really neat applique with a vine and flowers weaving in and out around the outside log cabins. This quilt was inspired by a simular design, "Winter Cabin" by Leigh Latimore. I wrote to Leigh and she has given me written permission to use her pattern and to even teach the quilt in classes.

Trunk Show in Nj
A very dear friend invited me to come and do my trunk show at her quilt guild in Nj. It was so much fun! What a lovely visit, and the trunk show as a great hit. Enjoy the photos.

when a quilters passes away
I was given the news that a very dear friend of mine passed away this week after a very courageous battle with cancer.
Sharon will be deeply missed by her family and friends
But, her quilts will live on for years and I am lucky enough to own a few of them.
I sat down this morning and put down a few words. This is unedited, they are words from my heart. Sharon, I will miss you.
When a quilter passes away.
The sewing machine will now gather dust
The rotary cutter will begin to rust.
The sewing room will have a strange hush
When a quilter passes away
Her family will gather the stash
It’s hard for them to know what to keep
Her guild may get a big heap
When a quilter passes away
The quilt’s she has made in the past
Now become treasures and stored to last
A symbol of her love they will stay
When a quilter passes away.

Had a few days vacation
If you call going to the hospital a vacation. I developed a new blood clot in my left leg. So, I got to spend the past 5 days on ordered bed rest. I'm now home and ready to start the next instalments of the boms. That is after I iron some fabric. lol

Has Spring Sprung?
If you to use my clothes line as a judge your answer just might be YES! LOL
It's 42 and the sun is shinning. Took advantage of the warmer weather and the nice spring like breeze and hung out some fabric. OH it sure does help break up the winter hum drums to see a line full of bright colors.
I hope your corner of the world is as bright as mine was today.
Hugs to you all and God Bless

Had a lazy day
It was cold and blowy outside today so I stayed in and worked on my Cathedral Window quilt. I think I got around another 20 windows sewing in. I wish now that I had done it in smaller sections. This quilt sure is but still has a lot of muslin showing. LOL My goal is to have it finished by July 15th so I can enter it in the county fair. YA right who am I fooling?
Hope you had a great day and were able to keep warm,

Dresden Plate Done
From top to quilt. I finished it Sunday and just now getting around to post the photos.

The Sashing strips
I can't wait to see how the blocks themselves turn out. This is a quilt top that won't be done in a few days. Maybe, just maybe, I might enter this one in our county fair. We will have to see what the finished quilt looks like.
Have a wonderful day.
We have 6 inches of new snow, the kids are home from school,
OH FUN!!
