A sad day in PA

If you have been following the posts you know that our mama cat had kittens 3 weeks ago. Well, last Tues. mama was killed by a car. The whole family was turned upside down. So, the girls and I are hand raising 5 kittens. They have taken to the bottle just great and are even using a litter box. We have streched their feedings yesterday and today so we now have a more normal sleep pattern. Now, to get them weaned and into new homes. They are so cute and daddy caved and we will be keeping two of the kittens. LOL

My Taylor's Tulip center is done

Well, I finally got my Taylor's Tulip center done and I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

The flowered focus fabric really does help bring the colors together.
Now, I have to wait...... :(

Fabrics

Here are my fabric choices for Taylor's Tulips.

I can't wait to get started.

The Rumors are True!!

I friend of mine from down under twisted my arm and Yes I am doing a second Block of the Month. This pattern is from a designer right here in PA, Heather Finnell who calls her company, “Burning the Midnight Oil”. The pattern can be found on her homepage http://burningthemidnightoilquilts.com/. The name of her new BOM is, “Taylor’s Tulips”. This lovely quilt combines both pieced blocks and appliqué accents. I am using her color choice too. This will be my first blue and yellow quilt. I am so excited about getting it started.

We have also started a yahoo chat group to help and encourage each other as we work on this project. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BOMchatMidnightoil/

Also, as a group we are meeting Monday nights, est, in “Quiltcahat” http://www.kathkwilts.com/
This is a live chat room, click on the pink link that says, “Click Here for Live Chat Now!!” this will bring you into the room.

Hope you join us as we build this lovely quilt top together.

The "NEW" additions

Well, at 3:35 this morning our daughter’s cat, NEWKIE, decided that my bed looked like a great birthing center. My husband and I were woken up by the meow of a new kitten. We managed to move mom and baby down to the box that we had gotten ready for her. After 2 1/5 hours she delivered 5 kittens.

One solid black, two black and gray tabby, one orange, and one light orange, almost buff and white. Mom and babies are doing great! She is such a good mommy.
