Summer is here

Oh my Summer has finally arrived and is driving me crazy. I am blaming it on the medicine. But, I am having a real hard time dealing with the heat and humidity this year. The humidity has been a killer. Today it going to be up around 90 with 87% humidity. It will be a stay in and sew day.
Thank goodness we have Air Conditioning.
Hope your staying cool

It followed me home,

that's my story and I am sticking to it. LOL I went to the Mennonite quilt shop an hour and a half away. Verna's is a really neat shop with tons of fabric. While I was there some fabric jump into my cart. I had no choice but to re-home it, the poor things LOL

I got enough yardage to make 3 quilts and 25 1/2 yard cuts of the thirty reproduction prints that I just love. Those will become a few scrappy tops. LOL Good thing I don't have to explain to DH why the food bill went up. Fabric does not have to be fed or cleaned up after. LOL

Maybe if i keep the studio door closed he won't notice. LOL
Peaceful Piecing.

Skittles,

I don't know if I have ever told you all that I am owned by a Scarlet Macaw. Skittles is now 16 years old and has lived with us for the past 5 years. It's like having a 3 year old in the house. He calls me mom, and let's us know when there is a problem. LOL

Enjoy the photos

He sure is pretty isn't he? And yes, he is on a leash so he can't fly away, but he hates the darn thing.

Quilt top update

I worked today on the center of the hummingbird quilt. I still need to come up with a name for the quilt. If you have an suggestion please feel free to let me know.
Anyway, here my center so far. I am so proud of this project.

Look for another update tomorrow.

I am CRAZY!!!!

I saw this quilt on the internet and started to drool. The colors are lovely, and the applique is lovely. I have to make my own but have never tried something like this without a pattern.

So, I guess there is always a first. Here is my middle.

This is going to be fun,

Kendra's quilt is on the grace

My bff let me barrow her Grace frame with Jamone machine. WOW it is working out great to get some of my tops done. Today I pinned on Kendra's, Samantha's friend from high school, quilt. My goal is to finish the quilting tomorrow and get the binding and hand it to Kendra by the weekend.

Then, Samantha's quilt is next in line. LOL

It is so neat not to be in pain anymore. Watch for photos of the finished quilt.

Started sewing again

With the wedding on June first, and my surgery on June 17th there were a few projects left in the sewing room untouched.

So, today I picked up where I left off. I am going to finish "Charlotte's Scrappy Quilt".

Designed by Debbie Beaves of the Violet Patch inc. this country colored quilt uses pre-printed panels. I fell in love with the colors when I first saw this quilt. And luck have it, a local fabric shop carried the whole line of fabrics. I am setting the 4th row of blocks, I hate sewing on point blocks. LOL The goal is to finish the top tomorrow. OH wait! I have a Dr. appointment in Rochester tomorrow. Go back to the surgeon for my post op visit. HMM Ok, so new goal, finish the top on Tuesday.

I will keep you posted on my progress.

Have a great day
